Stephen G. Sanders, M.D. is a Board Certified Internal Medicine physician.  His insightful suggestions of steps patients can and should take to enjoy productive office visits with their doctors are highlighted in Chapter Two of  our book, Reality Check,DeMystifying the Doctor/Patient Relationship.In addition to his busy practice, Dr. Sanders regularly conducts seminars at St. John's Mercy Medical Center in St. Louis, Missouri, for patients with diabetes to educate these patients about their disease, proper treatment and techniques to better manage the disease. He will be authoring articles on medical subjects for this site.

Company History:

 Nancy D. Doering, L.L.C. was created in 2006 after an unwilling patient experienced a dramatic series of "reality checks" as multiple medical mishaps took center stage for a number of years. The company evolved over time from a simple idea into first a book and then an organization that exists to help patients avoid some of the pitfalls encountered when navigating  through the medical system. Many elements contribute to positive results.  However, the most important  factor in the equation is patient participation in all medical decisions with guidance from highly skilled and caring physicians. This organization is in the business of doing its part to help patients along the road of self-advocacy.  It would be impossible to accompany each patient to every appointment.  Our products empower patients to become organized, informed, and more capable of advocating for themselves.
